The New Puppy Podcast
Honest conversations about the hardest parts of puppyhood.
Puppyhood is hard at both ends of the leash.
Now booking guests for Season 1. We’re looking for experts, practitioners, and real families who can speak honestly and knowledgeably to the experience of puppyhood, from every angle.

Sleepless nights, relentless biting, potty accidents, and the constant weight of “am I doing this right?” can turn daily life upside down for even the most prepared pet parents. And yet, so much of the conversation around puppyhood focuses on the cute parts, leaving families feeling alone in the hard ones.
The New Puppy Podcast is here to change that.
Each episode explores what’s actually happening during those first months developmentally, emotionally, and relationally. We talk honestly about puppy blues, the grief of lost routines, relationship strain, and the self-doubt that sneaks in when things get hard. And we do it with compassion, science, and a whole lot of real talk.
Because puppyhood is hard at both ends of the leash. The puppy is learning everything for the first time. And so is the person on the other end.
Who Listens?
Our audience is made up of new puppy parents in the thick of it: families with young kids, first-time dog owners, people who already have dogs at home, and anyone who expected puppyhood to feel more like a greeting card and less like a crash course in sleep deprivation.
They’re looking for reassurance, practical support, and someone to tell them that what they’re feeling is completely normal. They’re exactly the kind of people your expertise can help.
Your Host: Michelle Thomas
Michelle Thomas, FFCP, founded Ready, Pup, Go! after seeing the same pattern repeat itself: people who loved their dogs deeply and felt like they were failing them. Her approach is force-free and rooted in behavior science, meaning, no corrections, no intimidation, just clear communication and training that fits real life.
The New Puppy Podcast is her way of bringing together the voices that new puppy parents need most… from trainers and veterinarians to mental health professionals and real families in the thick of it.
She is Fear Free Certified, and a member of both PPG, and IAABC. She holds the values she does because they matter to her and because they work.
